6 Month Doctor's Appointment

Mickey had his 6 month check up yesterday and everything looks good. He had to get two shots but he was very brave and hardly cried. He weighs 16 lbs, 15 oz and was 26.5 inches long. His weight is evening out to the middle of the percentiles, but the doctor said that's fine. He was 40% for weight, 50% for length, and 90% for head!! What a big noggin (45.5cm)!!

She said his motor skills look great and he should be able to pull himself up on stuff by the time I come in next time (when he's 9 mo). She also showed me where his two bottom teeth are getting ready to come in!!

6 Months Old...

So, Mickey started crawling last night (his 6 month birthday) and this morning...(which by the way is way too young in my opinion) He kind of hops up onto his knees and rocks for a minute and then goes back onto his belly where he pulls his legs in and then flexes them out on the carpet and therefore gets to where he wants to go! What a little rascal! Now starts the days of Mommy having to chase him everywhere and baby proof the house!

Mickey and His Friend Conrad

The date on these is wrong...but they are from a month or so ago...here is Mickey at his Aunt Hannah's house with his pal Conrad...

I can't believe that my baby is only two days away from being six months old! How is this fair?? It really sneaks up on you. I'm loving everyday with him though, so I shouldn't complain. He just gets cuter and more fun.

He's still trying very hard to crawl. He is learning to get up on his knees, but he doesn't do it all the time. He will get up on them and rock a little bit, and then collapse. It's so cute to watch him try to reach for things and try to crawl towards them.

He's been being more vocal lately as well. He's been saying "Ma Ma Ma" a whole lot which I absolutely adore (even if he doesn't know what he's saying yet...he just knows Mommy gives him a lot of attention when he says it). And he does a whole new screeching thing too when he's playing around.

He goes for his six month appointment Thursday, so I will let you know how that goes :)
